High Build Mortars
If you are repairing deep concrete patches or working on overhead structures, our range of high-build mortars is the perfect solution. Unlike standard mortars that can sag or slump when applied in thick layers, these specialist products are designed to stay exactly where you put them.
All of our high-build repair mortars are manufactured in line with EN 1504, the European standard for concrete repair materials. This ensures consistent quality, performance, and suitability for either structural or cosmetic repairs, depending on the grade you choose.
...We provide high-build mortars that increase the strength and durability of your concrete structures, making them more resistant to wear and tear. In our collection, you'll find high-build mortars for a wide range of horizontal, vertical, and overhead applications that require a stronger, thicker mortar. This includes everything from structural concrete repairs using R3 and R4 grade mortars to non-structural or cosmetic surface repairs using R2 grade products, as defined under EN 1504.

Stronger repairs for vertical and overhead concrete with high-build mortars
The main benefit of a high build mortar is its ability to be applied in thick sections, often up to 50mm or more in a single layer, without falling away from the surface. This makes them the go-to choice for vertical walls and overhead repairs where gravity usually makes things difficult.
These mortars are easy to apply and are incredibly durable. Once cured, they offer high compressive strength and excellent resistance to water and frost, protecting the steel reinforcement inside your concrete from future rust and spalling.
To help you select the right product, high-build mortars are classified under EN 1504-3 into performance categories:
- R4 mortars – High-strength products designed for structural repairs, where restoring load-bearing capacity is critical
- R3 mortars – Suitable for general structural repairs with slightly lower performance requirements
- R2 mortars – Ideal for cosmetic or non-structural repairs, such as surface patching and finishing
And even though these mortars are heavy-duty, they are designed to be easy to work with. You can easily shape and profile them to match the surrounding concrete, leaving a smooth, flawless finish ready for painting or coating.
